Traditional cutter manoeuvring in the Port of Nexø, Bornholm, during Advanced Ship Handling training

Advanced Ship Handling

In partnership with Fundacja Dziedzictwa Morskiego. Learn the art and precision of handling heavy displacement vessels — approaches, departures, turns and controlled stops, ahead, astern and athwartships. Work mooring lines under load, harness the prop walk of a powerful propeller, and master the peculiarities of a variable-pitch propeller — all without the assistance of thrusters.

Over six intensive days you will rotate between four very different vessels — two 10-ton cutters, a 40-ton schooner and a two-masted schooner exceeding 100 tons — training in the Port of Nexø, Bornholm, with accommodation aboard SV Baltic Beauty. This is a professional, demanding training environment designed for experienced skippers looking to refine or deepen their ship-handling abilities.
